
About me
Joan Borràs is a clarinet (Oehler system), early clarinet and chalumeaux player. He studied in Valencia and at the Mozarteum Salzburg with Jose V.
Herrera and Alfred Prinz (Wiener Philharmoniker) as his principal teachers.
He has also received musical advice from P. Moragues (Orchestre de Paris),
A. Marriner (London Symphony) and C. Riera (Orchestra of the Age of
Enlightenment).
With Lorenzo Coppola (Freiburg Barock Orchester) he came into the field of interpretation of early music and historical clarinets and chalumeaux. He has also studied musicology at the Rioja University and a Master in Music Creation and Interpretation at the URJC. He has been awarded important prizes in several international competitions, among which are those of Pontarlier (France) and the 'Pierre Lantier' prize of the Paris Conservatoire.

Classic Trio he has made recordings for RNE, Köln Rundfunk, London
Film Institute, International Festival of Nice, Tele5 (Nocturnos), TVE ('Los
Conciertos de la 2') and Aus -Arts and Arlu labels. He has
recorded for Warner Music the series of CD's 'Chamber Music
Discoveries', which includes first recordings of works by R.
Kahn and A. Gyrowetz, among others. He is also featured in the
CD "Autumn", with trios by Bruch and Brahms.
